About Little Red

Little Red is a Brooklyn-based indie game studio founded by Colin Snyder, an artist and game designer with over 20 years experience in the games business–starting in retail, notably at AAA studio Rockstar Games and indie art collective Babycastles. Colin utilized his background as a graphic designer and oil painter,  his experience in visual research, and his interest in art history, mythology, and theology to create these uniquely beautiful playing cards–each card is fully illustrated, the vector graphics and numbers are hand-drawn vectors–all created in-house by Colin.

The Original Deck: The Occult Classic 91

The 91-count Playing Card Deck–available now–is a limited edition, original format of tarot cards, and is intended as the mother of all playing card traditions. It is based on a legend from the Enlightenment Era–wherein it was said that all the knowledge of the Alexandrian Library had been hastly scribed onto papyrus cards, and had survived through history as the tarot cards. This speculation was created by Freemasons, who went on to create the "genre" of tarot reading, or cartomancy as it is known today.  This deck is a speculation of what such a deck would have looked like had it existed–both the origin of more familiar playing cards & Tarot cards. It is first-and-foremost, meant to be a work of art.

How it works

LOGOS DIVINÆ Playing Card products are designed modularly based on player's and reader's needs. whether you're interested in using the deck primarily for games, tarot readings, or as an art collector, you can string your cards together to create a deck tailored to you. The base 52 card deck is ostensibly a fully illustrated Poker deck, with 40 Pips across and 3 court ranks (King, Queen, Jack), all across 4 color suits. The Arcana Booster Packs include the 22 trumps of the Major Arcana, plus a 4th court rank, the Horsemen.

The 91-count Playing Card Deck is our original release, and is intended as a "Swiss-army" knife of playing card traditions. It is based on Enlightenment Era speculations about the origin of Tarot cards, and is first-and-foremost intended as a work of art. Our new releases will be tailored for conventional gameplay and tarot readings.
